- BOOTS SHOVEL /

Woodworking artist TAKESHI SAWADA, founder of kamina&C, and Rolling Dub Trio.

Bringing together two distinct approaches to materials and craftsmanship, this collaboration was born from a shared sensibility and respect for things made by hand.

  • BOOTS SHOVEL -

Crafted from Japanese Hinoki cypress, this shoe care block was developed in collaboration between kamina&C and ROLLING DUB TRIO.

Simply place the blocks inside your shoes after a day of wear. By making use of the natural properties of Hinoki, they help maintain a fresh and comfortable environment inside your footwear, where moisture and odors can easily accumulate.

Hinoki contains naturally occurring compounds such as hinokitiol and α-pinene, known for their antibacterial, deodorizing, and insect-repellent properties. Combined with the wood’s excellent ability to regulate moisture, the blocks absorb excess humidity remaining inside the shoes, helping to reduce the conditions that can lead to unwanted odors and mold while keeping the interior of your leather footwear in better condition.

As a natural material, Hinoki responds to its surroundings. It absorbs moisture when humidity is high and gradually releases it again as the environment becomes dry. Through this quiet cycle of natural breathing, the wood gently supports the shoes you wear day after day.

The clean, calming fragrance unique to Hinoki is another part of its character.
The fragrance is especially remarkable the moment you open the package.

The simple habit of placing these blocks inside your shoes at the end of the day becomes a small moment of care—a quiet ritual between you and a favorite pair.

To wear, and to let them rest.

Through this repeated cycle, leather shoes gradually conform to the wearer’s feet, developing greater depth and character with time.

Rather than something reserved for special maintenance, these blocks were designed to become a natural part of the everyday relationship between you and your footwear.

A shoe care product created by kamina&C and ROLLING DUB TRIO, made to help keep a treasured pair in better condition and by your side for years to come.

Compatible with a wide range of footwear, from low-cut shoes to engineer boots.
When the fragrance begins to fade, lightly sanding the surface with sandpaper will expose fresh wood, restoring the natural aroma and properties of hinoki and allowing it to be used for many years.
