Dear Bootsaholic,

The pinnacle of crocodiles

ROLLING DUB TRIO has been producing a variety of boots for the past decade.
Occasionally, there are special designs, but this model is by far the most rare and luxurious.
We have decided to use crocodile leather, which has been mentioned in our plans but which we have avoided due to the high unit price of the leather itself.

Meeting with the tanner

GLEANERS ZIP has previously been releasing seasonal lineups using exotic leathers.
Last time, we used a rare, large Water Monitor (ring mark/water monitor lizard) for this model.

When procuring leather, we were introduced to Fujitoyo Kogyosho by a brand we knew, and we had the opportunity to tour every corner of the tannery. We were so impressed by the well-organized environment in which the process is carried out, from raw hides to pits, tanning, drying, dyeing, and finishing, as well as their honest and enthusiastic attitude, that we decided to do business with them.

Fujitoyo Kogyosho has a history of over 60 years (founded in 1960),
We are a specialized reptile leather tannery, primarily producing crocodile leather from salted rawhide, of which there are only 20 authorized companies in the world, and currently only 5 in Japan.

Crocodile leather is tanned in the same way as cowhide leather, using chrome and synthetic tannins, but because the leather's fiber structure is so dense, the processing and dyeing process requires more than 50 special steps, and it takes 2 to 3 months non-stop to complete.

Every time, they have kindly responded to our troublesome requests.
(Last time, I wanted to make lizard leather with a brown core, etc.) This time too, I tested the finishing process many times and ended up uploading a sample.

About Leather
This is a masterpiece made from the rare and special highest quality crocodile leather, which has been water-dyed and finished.
We use two cows per pair and luxuriously split them back to back.
We carefully selected specimens with a clear contrast in the scale pattern across the flank, and the finish is one that has been carefully crafted down to the smallest detail.

Dear you,

We sometimes use the coined term " Dear, Bootsaholic ."
This literally translates to "Dear Boot Addicts" with a sarcastic and loving meaning.

This type of model is released every season or every few seasons.
These boots embody our playful side.
Thank you to everyone who is interested and wears them.

With regards to exotic leather, various regulations, ideas, and social trends arise every year, making it difficult to expand or promote it on a large scale.

Fujitoyo Kogyosho, the company we did business with this time, is an official tannery that has been approved by the government.
When I interviewed them the other day, they were taking the current situation into consideration and moving forward towards the future.
We will continue to think about how to come up with more interesting projects in the future, so please look forward to them.

The boots are scheduled to be released around mid-March.
Please come and see it in store.

"Encounter with a tanner"
GLEANERS ZIP has been developing a seasonal lineup using exotic leather for some time.
Last time, we used a rare and valuable large size Water Monitor (Ring Mark / Mizuno's monitor) for this model.
We were very impressed by their sincere and enthusiastic attitude, and the environment in which they conduct the entire process from raw hides to tanning, drying, dyeing, and finishing in their tannery. They are one of the only 5 companies in Japan, and only 20 companies in the world, that specialize in the tanning of reptile hides, mainly crocodile hides.
Crocodile leather is tanned using chrome and synthetic tannin, just like cowhide, but because of the dense fiber structure of the skin, more than 50 special processes are required for processing and dyeing, and it takes 2 to 3 months non-stop to complete the process.
Every time, they are always willing to accommodate our tedious requests.
(For example, last time we wanted to make a brown-core lizard skin), and this time we tested the finishing process many times before finally uploading the sample.
