IN'EI LOAFER
ROLLING DUB TRIO presents a new series , IN'EI.
We have created a simple pair of coin loafers with just the right amount of volume.
The IN'EI series is inspired by "In Praise of Shadows" (1933) by Junichiro Tanizaki, a novelist from the late Meiji to mid-Showa period.
The beauty that resides within the deep black is expressed as a simple, functional design with minimalist elements.
Using an improved Munson last, these shoes offer outstanding comfort and walking ability, while remaining simple yet characteristic of RDT.
The leather used is Dutch calfskin ( known as kip in Japan ) finished in Japan as box calf .
It has a translucent black color that draws you in and a fine-grained surface.
We pursued the uniquely Japanese aesthetic sense with beautiful leather, functional beauty, and a streamlined design.

We made this Coin loafer with the Munson last to which we added some improvements.
The theme of the H series was inspired by the novelist Junichiro Tanizaki's essay "In-ei Raisan / In Praise of Shadows" (1933), a work of modern Japanese literature. The beauty that dwells in the deep black color is simple and functional, and is expressed in the subtractive design.
The improved Munson Last was adopted and became a simple yet RDT-inspired shoe with outstanding comfort and walkability.The leather used is finished the Dutch calf leather, known as "kip" in Japan, as box calf in Japan. Its captivating transparency and fine-grained texture make it a leather of Japanese beauty.
It's beautiful leather, functional beauty, and lean design are the result of an ambitious pursuit of aesthetics unique to the Japanese.
