クロコダイルの最高峰

ROLLING DUB TRIOでは過去十数年、様々なブーツを製作してきました。
時折、特殊なデザインもあり今回のモデルは中でも群を抜いて稀有でラグジュアリー。
その革自体の高額な単価からも、企画にはあがるものの敬遠し続けてきたCrocodile Leather / クロコダイルレザーを採用しました。

 

 

タンナーとの出会い

以前よりエキゾチックレザーを使用したラインナップをシーズンで展開していたGLEANERS ZIP。
前回このモデルには、希少価値の高い大型のWater Monitor(リングマーク/ミズオオトカゲ)を使用しました。

革を調達する際に、知り合いのブランドさんからご紹介していただいた藤豊工業所様との出会いがあり、タンナーを隅々まで見学させていただき生皮からピットに入れ、鞣し、乾燥させ、染色、仕上げまでを一貫して行う整った環境と、誠実で熱心なその姿勢にとても感銘を受けお取引をさせていただけることになりました。

藤豊工業所は60年以上の歴史を持ち(昭和35年創業)、
世界で20社、現在日本では5社のみしか認可されていない塩漬けの生皮から一貫して生産をするクロコダイルを主体とした爬虫類皮革専門タンナーです。

クロコダイル鞣しは牛革と同じでクロムや合成タンニンを使用しますが、皮の繊維構造が緻密なため加工や染色には特殊な工程が50以上も掛かり、完成までにはノンストップで2〜3ヶ月もの期間を要します。

毎回、私たちの面倒な要望に快く対応していただき
(前回は茶芯のリザード革を作りたい等)、今回も仕上げ工程を何度もテストしサンプルアップに至りました。

デザイン・仕様について
ナローなシルエットのクラシックなウェスタン・サイドジップブーツ。
甲部分と踵の包み込むようなフィット感で抜群の履き心地を実現しました。
ウエスタンワークタイプのラストを使い、バンプと腰革を縫い合わせるオーソドックスなデザインを採用した GLEANERS ZIP は、CASPER とはまた一味違った個性のサイドジップブーツです。
湾曲を持たせた高めのカーブドヒールを持ち、足にタイトにフィットするシャープなシルエットの、都会的な印象のブーツです。

レザーについて
稀有で特別なレザー・クロコダイルの最高峰を水染め素上げした逸品です。
1足につき2頭を使用し贅沢に背割りでご用意しました。
わき腹に掛けての鱗模様のコントラストがはっきりとした個体を厳選し、細部にまで拘った仕上がりとなっております。

 

 

親愛なる貴方へ 

私たちがたまに使用する " Dear,Bootsaholic "という造語。
これは直訳すると "親愛なるブーツ中毒者へ" という皮肉と愛を込めた意味です。

毎シーズンもしくは数シーズンに一度リリースするこのようなモデル。
私たちの遊び心の部分を形にしたブーツ達。
興味を持って履いて下さる方々、いつも有難うございます。

エキゾチックレザーに関しては、年々様々な規制や思想、世間の流れもあり
大きく展開や打ち出しがし難い現状です。

今回お取り引きさせていただいた藤豊工業所様は国からの認可もある正式なタンナー。
先日も取材させて頂いた際に、そのような現状も考慮し未来に向けて先へ先へと動いておりました。
今後もまた面白い企画が出来るよう考えていきますので、その辺りも楽しみにお待ちください。

"The best of crocodile"

"Encounter with a tanner"
GLEANERS ZIP has been developing a seasonal lineup using exotic leather for some time.
Last time, we used a rare and valuable large size Water Monitor (Ring Mark / Mizuno's monitor) for this model.
We were very impressed by their sincere and enthusiastic attitude, and the environment in which they conduct the entire process from raw hides to tanning, drying, dyeing, and finishing in their tannery. We are very impressed with their sincere and enthusiastic attitude, and we are happy to do business with them.FUJITOYO KOGYOSHO has a history of more than 60 years (established in 1960).
They are one of the only 5 companies in Japan, and only 20 companies in the world, that specialize in the tanning of reptile hides, mainly crocodile hides.
Crocodile leather is tanned using chrome and synthetic tannin, just like cowhide, but because of the dense fiber structure of the skin, more than 50 special processes are required for processing and dyeing, and it takes 2 to 3 months non-stop to complete the process.
Every time, they are always willing to accommodate our tedious requests.
(For example, last time we wanted to make a brown-core lizard skin), and this time we tested the finishing process many times before finally uploading the sample.

Classic Western side-zip boot with narrow silhouette.
The instep and heel are wrapped for a comfortable fit.Using a western work-type last and an orthodox design with vamp and waist leather sewn together, the GLEANERS ZIP is a side-zip boot with a different character from the CASPER.
With a high curved heel and a sharp silhouette that fits tightly to the foot, these boots have an urban impression.
_About the leather
The best of rare and special leather crocodile is water-dyed and unrefined.
Two crocodiles are used for each pair, and they are luxuriously split down the back.
The contrast of the scale pattern on the flanks has been clearly contrasted and carefully selected.

" Dear Sir or Madam "
We sometimes use the coined term "Dear Bootsaholic".
The literal translation of this term is "Dear Bootsaholic," which is both ironic and loving.
We release these models every season or once every few seasons.
These boots are the result of our playful side.

As for exotic leathers, there are various regulations, ideas, and trends in the world every year, and it is difficult to develop and launch new products in a big way.

The company we have dealt with this time, FUJITOYO KOGYOSHO, is an official tannery with approval from the government.
When we interviewed the company the other day, they were moving forward into the future, taking such current conditions into consideration.
