TOKYO SANDAL 2020 Warm Season

In 2025, TOKYOSANDAL is working on major reforms with the aim of further evolution.
This year, we have narrowed our lineup down to two styles in pursuit of ideal comfort in both wearing and walking.
The types chosen were the simplest and most unconventional "open hot spring type," and the highly practical "closed slip-on type."
Both are fundamental designs that symbolize the TOKYOSANDAL philosophy.

The upper is designed to follow the three-dimensional curve of the traditional last and top, creating beautiful lines.
It features a unique cross stitch design.
A 3mm thick stretch-resistant tape is sewn into the inside of this stitching and carefully secured with a sewing machine. The function of this tape will come into play as you wear the sandals. Leather sandals become more comfortable as they break in, but at the same time, the leather can stretch more than necessary.
To appropriately control stretching and maintain a good fit, the design deliberately distinguishes between "areas where you want it to blend in" and "lines where you don't want it to blend in too much."
TOKYOSANDAL is a brand that promotes "repairable leather sandals," and aims to create footwear that ages ideally and can be enjoyed for a long time .
All of that passion and technology is condensed into this model 2.
In 2025, TOKYO SANDAL is taking a bold step forward in its ongoing evolution, implementing significant reforms to further elevate both design and function.
This year, in pursuit of ideal comfort and wearability, we have intentionally narrowed the lineup down to just two models.
The selected styles are the minimalist, no-frills "Open Onsen Type" and the highly practical "Closed Slip-On Type."
Both represent the core philosophy of TOKYO SANDAL — fundamental, timeless designs.
The uppers are crafted to follow the three-dimensional curves of our original lasts and footbeds, forming elegant lines.
One standout feature is the unique cross-stitching technique. Beneath the stitch lines lies a 3mm-thick non-stretch tape, carefully sewn in by machine. This tape plays a crucial role over time — while leather sandals become more comfortable as they break in, they can also stretch excessively.
By clearly distinguishing between areas meant to soften and those meant to retain their shape, this design ensures long-term fit and comfort.
As a brand committed to creating “repairable leather sandals,” TOKYO SANDAL strives for ideal aging and long-lasting wear.
These two new models embody that philosophy and craftsmanship in their entirety.
